The Great Escape - Burgers and Beer "The Good Life"

Dirty, grimy, packed with loud and boisterous people, boiling hot. Perfection = ). The Great Escape is the closest you can get to a real Irish/English pub. Mostly international clientele. Go on a football/rugby night and watch the place come alive. Beer is reasonably priced compared to a place like Darlings at CHF3.50 for a small draught. The food is the usual pub fair with special lunch menu's throughout the week. Chicken wings and nuggets come in huge portions with yummy sauces. The burgers are really juicy and come in a basket with circular french fries. The Caesar Salad is a meal in itself as it is absolutely Herculean in size with tasty grilled bits of chicken and black sesame. The Great Escape is GTL's recommendation for the best pub on a sports night or for a Sunday burger and cider.

Aaaa The simple things in life.......

Average Price per head: Burger and a Large Beer 20 CHF
Rating: 5/5

  1. The Great Escape is, as the name states, great. However, the size of this restaurant / pub / bar is too small to accommodate the demand. This especially concerns the weekends. Soon as the 20 seats are full, you can't really eat here. Result of a place thats trying to be everything at the same time. The burgers are as good as those of Etoile-Blanche or Holy Cow.
