Born in London in 1968, Elizabeth Steiner moved to Switzerland in 1974. Educated in Lausanne and Zurich, she studied economics and art, and has pursued her work in both fields for two decades.
Trees, leaves and grass have always been her central theme. While her earlier work was mostly figurative, her recent work retains the focus on organic forms, yet reduced to their elementary abstract shape.
Her art has revolved around these forms and their balance, spaces-in-between, and fit.
