La Boudoir

Horrible experience. Before the appointment, upon booking, questions were asked in the provided space. No reply was received. I followed up with a phone call, and despite leaving a message, no call back was received. Only upon emailing chris did I receive a reply.

Once the time of the appointment came around, I walked to the shop and arrived promptly. This was a Saturday morning at 10 am (mid February - 15 degrees outside). After waiting for 10 minutes after the appointment was scheduled, I emailed chris asking whether or not he would be able to make the appointment. Sure enough, he replied nothing he would be unavailable to make the appointment due to an emergency.

Frankly, I understand that things sometimes outside of our control come up; however I find it extremely unprofessional to break an appointment without notifying your customer in advance.

I won't be making another appointment.

I first visited Christobal when he was at his previous salon. I had just cut my hair to shoulder length and it just wasn't right. I think fixing a bad cut must be a lot harder than a fresh cut. Chris didn't just make it livable - it was PERFECT. I have been going to him ever since.

A while back he separated from his partners at his old salon. While his talents were "homeless" and he was working on opening La Boudoir he would even make house calls!! He cut my overgrown hair at my apartment while I studied for the IL bar exam. Bless his sweet heart!

I am so thrilled his new place is open! CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS!! La Boudoir is adorable - just like Chris. He did most of the decorating (and furniture painting) himself.

In a world full of Groupon discounts and over-selection, it is hard to find a stylist who really commands loyalty. Chris is that stylist.

Go visit him and love your hair!

Great experience. Cozy but beautiful salon. Although my appointment was pushed back due to a wedding party that had came in, Cris made up for it in the attention he gave me when i was there.

I can't rate more than one star for La Boudoir because although I had a Groupon, I never could get an appointment at this place. I tried going on their website to make an appointment, as I saw that other people had done this, but I couldn't get that to work for some reason. So I tried calling first thing in the morning and left a message to call me back to set up an appointment, mentioning that I had a Groupon. After two days, I tried again to leave them another message, telling them that I had already left a message two days before, but still, no one called me back. I saw here in the reviews that several people had the same problem. I also saw a review where someone showed up in the winter when it was 15 degrees out and found out they no longer had an appointment. All this just started to give me a bad feeling about this place. I don't care how good they are, I don't have any interest in going to a place where I have to keep calling them just to make an appointment or where they cancel on you once you've finally made an appointment with them! Fortunately, Groupon very kindly refunded me when I explained my situation.
