To all the mothers out there.
We hope you enjoy your day along with some of our favorite mothers from this year.
The last shot is in honor of the vaquita mama we saw last year on the Vaquita Survey 2023, exactly one year ago today!

As we desperately search for more vaquita mothers and calves, may we be blessed with a mother’s love and good fortune.

Happy Friday. You made it. The Seahorse crew are preparing for the great Vaquita Survey of 2024. Washing windows, building out the deck for the scientists, and pumping some last minute iron.

⚠️ Heartbreaking news from the #FaroeIslands: 40 pilot whales mercilessly slaughtered in the first grind of 2024. Our crew was there, gathering crucial evidence to stop this massacre. But we can't do it alone!👇

Read the commentary by our Faroes Campaign Lead, Valentina Crast, for more insight into our ongoing efforts and how you can help us #StoptheGrind.✊(link in our bio)

Happy Sunday. The Seahorse crew goes about its routine in the Upper Gulf.
This week we start the Vaquita Survey of 2024.
Here you can see an example of what it's like for a Sunday night aboard the vessel.

Poachers try to sneak in under the darkness but we have a lot of toys to find them.
Thank you for being here with us! Have a great week.

Another surprising thing our crew discovered in the Faroe Islands was that food was in high abundance and so was food waste.
You could buy anything there.

The abundance of imports and exports do not change with the slaughter of pilot whales. They’re two separate things that do not affect the other; the modern world next to the killing beach is full of people not practicing the Grind.
This is no small village in need of anything. It’s an independent nation that is full of modernization.

We have yet to understand why the Grind is relevant to their world.

There’s a lot of myths about the Grind.

The Sea Shepherd crew is there to explore and learn more about those myths and what it’s like to live in the Faroe Islands.

The Faroese are innovative, generous, well-traveled, modern people.

This is not a place filled with monsters, but rather a paradox of modernity and the ways of old.

The only people who can #stopthegrind are the people who live in the Faroe Islands.

We urge them to join the global community in protecting whales instead of killing them.

Over the weekend, the Seahorse crew found a dead sea lion. It appears to have died due to an entanglement. Large gill nets kill anything and everything in its path.
What can you do?
Stay connected to your local food sources and reconsider industrialized fishing products.
