Earlier today, Bandai Namco Esports released a special message from Dragon Ball FighterZ Producer Tomoko Hiroki. At this point, it's been six years since Dragon Ball FighterZ was released on January 26, 2018.
Now that the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour 2023-2024 has wrapped up, Hiroki has taken this opportunity to announce the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour 2024-2025. Due to the implementation of rollback netcode, this series will be played both online and offline.
Time sure does fly, doesn't it? It's hard to believe that it's been over a year since Street Fighter 6 was released on June 2, 2023.
To celebrate this occasion, Capcom briefly took Street Fighter 6's servers down for maintenance in preparation for its first anniversary update. Over on Buckler's Boot Camp, an update notice provides a list of everything that's been added to Street Fighter 6 with this latest update.
It's somehow already been a full year since Street Fighter 6 first hit the big stage, and a ton of people have been playing the game a whole bunch over that time.
To help celebrate Street Fighter 6's first anniversary since launch, Capcom just released a bunch of fun infographics to detail the wild amount of player and match data collected after just one year.
Update: Street Fighter 6's server maintenance is now underway to prepare the game for its 1st anniversary update. We've added new information to the story below about what is and could be coming in the new patch.
Street Fighter 6 dropped its largest update yet last week to bring Akuma and the Season 2 balance patch to the game, and it seems the developers need to do a bit more work with it quite soon.
Capcom just announced a period of server maintenance coming for SF6 later this week that'll render online systems unusable for a number of hours.
It may be a bit hard to believe, but our big fighting game baby is celebrating its first birthday today.
As such, Capcom just revealed the 1st Anniversary Fighting Pass that's about to hit Street Fighter 6 along with some of events they have planned to commemorate the occasion.
Fighting game tournament season is now fully underway, and although it wasn't quite as large in scale as Combo Breaker last weekend, DreamHack Dallas 2024 was almost just as stacked with world-level talent.
Now that the action has wrapped up for the Esports World Cup qualifier event, we've gone through and gathered the full characters stats for Tekken 8 at the major event.
Update: This story has been updated with final results.

More specifically, Street Fighter 6 and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves are apparently primed for reveals at the Summer Game Fest 2024.
MultiVersus went dark for basically an entire year to prepare for its full release that finally arrived this past week, but some players have been sharing sentiments that it feels more like a beta than it did before.
Part of that is due to the current version of MultiVersus lacking a chunk of the nice features and options which were present in the open beta, and the game's Director recently addressed what's going on with that.
DreamHack Dallas 2024 is the big tournament that's been happening this weekend. For Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, this is a particularly important event as DreamHack Dallas 2024 serves as a qualifier event for the Esports World Cup, a major tournament with a $1,000,000 prize pool for both games that's taking place later this year in Riyadh.
KC|JDCR was a potential favorite to win the whole thing as he was seeded at 17 for the event. He no doubt had a tough match up ahead of him in the top 64 on the winners side upon facing off with PBE|AK, the seed 1 competitor.
It hasn't even been a full week since MultiVersus was released worldwide. However, players are already beginning to figure out which characters are strong in this game.
MirrorMan recently released a tier list that depicted Iron Giant as one of the strongest characters in MultiVersus. When asked why, he simply responded with a clip of Iron Giant performing a touch of death.
What truly makes the fighting game community come to life is the people and players who show up to put in the work — or at least bring the fun factor to events.
We recently witnessed Tekken triple crown champion TM|Arslan Ash become something of a meme himself for his reaction captured at Combo Breaker 2024, which was apparently taken to the next level this weekend at DreamHack Dallas 2024.
Update: This story has been updated with final results.

Street Fighter 6 is just about to celebrate its first anniversary since releasing last year with quite a bit more content available now with the DLC characters, Outfit 3 selection, new stages and more.
It appears, however, that some of the original content / offerings in the game are about to change or potentially even go away completely — although there may well be something else going on too.
Some of the best players to ever pick up fighting games recently took to playing Akuma, the latest DLC character for Street Fighter 6. These Legend sets have Akuma usage from prior Evo winners, Daigo Umehara, Tokido and Momochi up against top end competitors like Chris Wong, Nemo, Moke and KojiKOG.
This is a great way to see what Akuma looks like in the hands of some of the most skilled players in our community. There are 12 matches in total and they showcase Akuma going up against Ken, Blanka, Lily and Cammy.
MultiVersus has only been out for a few days, but many players are already beginning to get a good feel for things. We recently saw the release of MultiVersus tier lists by VoiD and Nakat (who is also now involved in the development process for MultiVersus).
A few days ago, Liquid|Hungrybox hosted an invitational exhibition tournament for MultiVersus. Aside from pride and bragging rights, nothing was on the line, but players tried their best anyhow. MirrorMan was among the players invited to the event and was one of the favorites to win the whole thing, though he ultimately took second place with his Bugs Bunny.
It's only been a little over a week since the Season 2 patch for Street Fighter 6 was released. Shortly afterwards, ElChakotay was able to win Combo Breaker 2024's Street Fighter 6 event with Lily.
This weekend, we're just short of 400 players at DreamHack Dallas 2024's Street Fighter 6 tournament. Though ElChakotay is undeniably a very talented player, the competition is much fiercer this time around, resulting in him placing 33rd at this latest tournament.
